Certified Protection Professional
The Certified Protection Professional (CPP) credential is awarded to experienced security practitioners who have demonstrated in-depth knowledge and management skills in eight key areas of security. Those who have earned the CPP are ASIS board-certified in security management.
Established in 1977, the CPP is widely acknowledged as the highest recognition for security professionals. The credential is given to individuals who have demonstrated expertise in security management principles, concepts, technology and best practice. This credential provides independent validation of a practitioner's ability to assume leadership responsibilities and address broad security concerns.
Since 2012, over 100 Australian security management professionals have attained the CPP designation.
Eligibility Requirements for CPP:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements to be accepted as a CPP candidate:
9 years of security experience, including at least three 3 in responsible charge of a security function.
7 years of security experience, including at three 3 years in responsible charge of a security function AND an earned bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education.
Physical Security Professional
Physical Security Professional (PSP) is a Board certification process for individuals involved in the physical security of organisations. Certification lasts for three years, during which time ASIS requires credential holders to complete 60 Continuing Professional Education credits in order to meet recertification standards.
Eligibility Requirements for PSP:
5 years of experience in the physical security field AND a minimum HSC, VCE or TAFE equivalent Diplomas
Professional Certified Investigator
The Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) credential provides demonstrable proof of an individual's knowledge and experience in case management, evidence collection, and preparation of reports and testimony to substantiate findings. Those who earn the PCI are ASIS board-certified in investigations.
Eligibility Requirements for PCI:
A HSC, VCE or TAFE equivalent AND five 5 years of investigations experience with at least two years in case management
